NV Cuvée De Frontignan
$47.00
Sparkling wine is made throughout the world, from the most famous region of Champagne to other areas of France, Italy including Prosecco, Spain’s Cava bubblies, Germany’s Sekt and the USA commonly from California, Oregon, Washington and New York State. It can be made from any grape: Champagne is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and many wineries trying to produce sparkling wine in the style of Champagne use the same varieties.
Our Cuvée de Frontignan is produced using Muscat Canelli, similar to Italy’s Asti Spumante, and results in a vastly different wine from those produced from the traditional varieties. Muscat fruit is the star here, both in its aroma and flavors. The result is a delicious sparkling wine that pairs with a variety of foods but is also wonderful on its own.
Aroma: Typical Muscat aromas of white flowers (jasmine, faint honeysuckle), pineapple, blood orange, lemon verbena and Muscat spiciness.
Palate: Medium in body, with good acidity, tropical fruits, stone fruits and a balanced moderate sweetness that is neither heavy nor cloying.
Pairing: Spicy Asian cuisine, nuts, dried fruits, light desserts, or on its own.
